The Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG) joins the football fraternity to mourn the demise of the legendary Alhaji Momodou Njie, known as Biri Biri, which happened today, Sunday, 19th July 2020, in Dakar, Senegal.
Biri Biri, who is arguably one of the greatest players this country has produced, has been a key figure in our football circles. It is for this reason that the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia SJAG, has accorded him a special status by awarding and honouring him with a Life Time Achievement and contribution towards Gambian football in the past, for his self-less service to the country. Biri has been a regular at the National awards and in his own words " I will never miss the awards".
Biri has been a friend of the sports press and he will be surely missed.
SJAG extends condolences to the family of Biri Biri and the entire football fraternity.
May his soul Rest In Peace, Biri Biri!
