Gambian Players Abroad: Coppa Italia roundup

  • Mid-week saw the Gambian quartet of Omar Colley, Ebrima Colley, Lamin Jallow and Musa Barrow competing in the third round of the Coppa Italia.

  • Omar Colley's Sampdoria edged Salernitana 1-0 to set up a "Derby Della Lanterna" encounter against Genoa thanks to La Gumins 54th minute goal.


    The Scorpions ace played the entire game after sitting out Sampdoria's last three league matches.



    Goals from Orsolini and Vignato gave Bologna a 2-0 win over Reggina at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.


    Musa Barrow replaced Santander just a minute after recess in the Bologna team.


    Elsewhere on Wednesday, Udinese beat L.R Vicenza Virtus 3-1. Lamin Jallow replaced Samuele Longo immediately after the break. The former Chievo Verona player has featured in Vicenza's last three league games as a substitute.



    Hellas Verona were pushed back as they needed penalties to record win over Venezia. Goalkeeper Pandur becoming the hero of the night with two saves in the penalties after the initial regulation time had ended 3-3. Gambian international Ebrima Colley scored the third goal of his side



    Round 4 of the competition will be played on November 25th.
