  • The Sports Journalists' Association of The Gambia (SJAG) wishes to inform it's members about the media arrangements for the Scorpions upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gabon.

  • The SJAG held successful consultations with the GFF Events Management Committee and it was agreed that a limited number from Sports Press will be accommodated for the Match Day 4 encounter on 16 November at the Independence Stadium.


    The EMC and GRTS have reached an agreement for the state broadcaster to cover and send clean feeds of the match to interested TV stations in the country.


    Radio commentary will also be welcomed and the following radio stations have been identified namely GRTS Radio, West Coast Radio, Capital FM, Afri Radio, Star FM.


    Only three personnel from each radio station will be allowed to the commentary gantry.


    The daily tabloids in the country namely the Standard Newspaper, The Point, Foroyaa, Gambia Daily, Voice Newspaper will also have one representative each.


    Freelancers of foreign media, online sports websites and photographers have been allocated 20 slots.

    All accreditation request must be sent to [email protected] latest Thursday, 12 November with the following details (name, medium and passport photo).

    The accredited journalists must wear their face mask at all times during their stay inside the stadium as announced by CAF.


    The gates will close at 3pm and anyone who comes after the stipulated time will not have access.


    Confirmed personnel for accreditation will collect their tags from the SJAG president on Saturday at 10 am at the Independence Stadium.


    Below has some essential information for the operations of the media as announced by the Confederation of African Football.


     *Media Operations:* 


    • No mixed zone.


    • Video press conference if possible (to be organized by the media officers of both teams).


    • Flash Interviews (For TV rights holders only).


    • As the PCR test is compulsory for all persons accessing zones 1 and 2, Photographers from participating teams and those from accredited media must provide a negative PCR test 48 hours before match day of.


    • Wearing masks covering the nose and mouth at all times during presence in the stadium. Antibacterial gel to be provided at the entrance, physical distancing and compliance with all health measures.


    • Public national radio stations can access spaces and boxes reserved for them.


    • Journalists (written press, web and radio) may be admitted through a dedicated entrance, in a dedicated space, subject to availability.


    • Wearing masks covering the nose and mouth at all times during presence in the stadium. Antibacterial gel to be provided at the entrance, physical distancing and compliance with all health measures.


    • “TV vans” will be admitted under certain conditions: enclosed space located within or outside the stadium and where the trucks used by the broadcasters are parked (in complete safety). The technical staff of these coaches must comply with the health protocol described for all participants in the match: physical distancing, wearing a mask and respecting barrier measures.
