The KAA Gent
midfielder is currently self isolating in his Libreville hotel after since the
news was confirmed this morning at 7am.
He will miss
the Scorpions’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gabon on Thursday, 12
November and potentially the second leg at the Independence Stadium on 16
November.
“We were all
tested yesterday and we received the test results this morning and we got a confirmation
about a Covid-19 positive test of Sulayman Marreh,” Saintfiet Sjag.gm.
“They
delivered us papers with the documents of every player lot of player’s names
were totally different from their passport names and we even got three covid19
test results of people who are not part of the selection, not part of the staff
and not part of anything.
“We were
missing three Covid-19 test results from our team – they were missing Adama Jammeh,
Omar Colley and Noah Sonko Sundberg and when we called them they sent that of
Adama Jammeh and Omar Colley.
“Till now
they didn’t send us the test official document for Noah Sonko Sundberg and when
we asked them they said they will send it tomorrow.
“We need the
paper (negative test certificate) before the match and its pure manipulation,”
Saintfiet added.
The Belgian
also confirmed Assan Ceesay and Lamin Jallow tested positive Coronavirus
leading their withdrawal from the initial list.
The Panthers
have been boosted with the late arrivals of captain Pierre Emerick Aubamenyang and
St Etienne star Denis Bouanga.
